*메이크업 : 스카우트 평가 방법에서 인성이라는 뜻으로 쓰이기도 하지만, 이 글에선 통상적으로 쓰이는 화장을 의미한다. 가볍게는 눈썹이나 헤어도 포함.
오프 시즌 때 각종 시상식, 방송, 유튜브에 출연할 때 메이크업을 하는 모습을 종종 볼 수가 있었다. 개인적으론 보기가 너무 좋았다.
좀더 세련되고 깔끔한 느낌. K-뷰티를 장착한 아이돌을 보는 것 같기도.
어쩌면 세계 스포츠에서 빠르게 이목을 사로잡을 수 있는 콘텐츠라고 생각한다. 선수에게 돌아가는 추가적인 보상도 꽤 있지 않을까.
물론 우려스러운 부분은 경기에 지장이 생길 수 있다는 점. 경기 중에 흘러내릴(화장 알못이라 사실 잘 모름) 수 있음, 좋은 성적을 내지 못했을 때 여기저기 비난을 두 배로 살 수 있음 등.
마스크가 없어진 이후 서울 지하철에는 20대 화장하는 남성이 부쩍 늘어나 보인다. (실제 통계도 그런 경향인데, 조사하는 곳 마다 달라서 일단 패스) 더불어 화장을 하면 특이한 사람 취급 받았던 인식이 변화중. 외국은 글쎄, 잘 모르겠다. 그래서 신기해 할 지도?
참고로 한국의 뷰티 시장은 점유율이 높았던 중국시장이 막힘에도 불구하고 전체적인 수출은 증가하고 있다.

이렇게 콘텐츠로 유입이 된다고 해도 외국인이 야구 소비하는데 벽이 하나있다. 영원한 숙제 '티켓 예매'
티켓 확보 경쟁에 앞서, 외국인이 티켓 사이트에(아웃소싱) 예매가 거의 불가능이다. 핸드폰 인증과 가입 결제라는 난이도 99의 숙제가 기다리고 있다. 내가 아는 외국인들은 모두 포기했다.
**에어비엔비 액티비티 같은 곳에 티켓+야구장 먹거리 및 투어를 껴팔아서 개인 투어해주는 분들이 계신다. 외국인 입장이 되어 생각해보면 훌륭한 서비스라고 생각한다.
여행 도중엔 티켓 확보의 불확실성이 생긴다면 스포츠 관광의 소비까지가 쉽지 않다.
희망적인 건 외국어 서비스와 함께 인하우스로 갈아타는 구단도 생기고 있다는 점. (kt가 눈에 띄었음)
그래봤자 외국인 관중 10명 느는게 뭐가 중요하겠냐 라고 할 수 있겠지만, 숙박-식사-관광으로 이어지는 소비로 주변에 일자리가 생긴다. 이런 일자리가 지속 가능한 야구로 이어질 거란 희망을 하고 있다. (다른 산업 군에 비해 관광 산업은 물리적인 요소로 많은 인력을 필요로 한다)
일자리가 없어 인구가 현저하게 줄고 있는 지방. 특히 부산. 심각한 수준임을 생각하면 서둘러야 하지 않을까.

저는 퀴라소(퀴라사오)에 도착했습니다. 퀴라소는 중남미 베네수엘라 위에 위치해있는 국가로 제주도의 1/4 크기의 섬입니다. 네덜란드 령이고요. 총 인구가 약 20만명 정도라고 합니다.
인구대비 수많은 메이저리거들을 배출한 걸로 잘 알려져 있습니다. 잰더 보가츠, 앤드류 존스, 프로파, 스쿱, 시몬스 등 많은 선수들이 있었고요. 우리에게 익숙한 로저 버나디나(기아 타이거즈 17~18 ) 블라미디르 발렌틴 (NPB 11~21) +헨슬리 뮬렌(SK 00) 수많은 선수들이 성장한 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
적은 인구에서 수많은 메이저리거들을 배출해낼 수 있었냐? 전문가들은 유전적인 요소와 (수비하기 어려운 열악한) 그라운드 환경을 꼽더라고요. 그 외 배경으로, 2000년도 리틀야구 월드시리즈 진출 이후 많은 야구장이 생기고 인프라가 좋아졌다고 하는데요. 제 생각엔 ‘네덜란드의 영향을 많이 받지 않았을까’ 네덜란드가 스포츠 강국이잖아요.
야구 자체도 ‘후프드클라쎄’(1922년 리그 탄생) 라는 리그도 있었고 *‘할렘 위크’라는 명성있는 국제대회도 있었음 (1978년 최동원+김시진이 맹활약) 뿐만 아니라 스포츠 과학자로 유명한 ‘프란츠 보쉬’ (트레이닝 쪽으로도 유명) 전문적으로 어렸을 때부터 트레이닝 같은 부분도 체계적으로 받지 않았을까 하는 생각이 듭니다.
